What you can submit

  • One or two new works responding to Landscape.

  • Framed or unframed works.

  • Works may be for sale.

  • Each work must measure less than one metre in every dimension, including its frame.

  • Media are open, provided the work can be safely installed and displayed.

  • For digital, video or moving-image works, artists must supply a suitable device and all equipment needed to display the work throughout the exhibition. Please discuss installation requirements with us in advance.

The exhibition will be curated to include one or two works from each participating member, depending on the size of works and available space. The curators reserve the right to decline works, while making every effort to support members and include their contributions.

Register your work

Please complete the online registration form in full by Friday 27 November, earlier if possible, so we can plan the exhibition and prepare artwork information.

Please provide details for each work, including its title, media, dimensions, sale price if applicable, and any installation requirements. Include a few sentences about the work and its connection with the theme, you don’t need to write a formal artist statement.

For The Shutter Room Gallery website, marketing, and social media, please share an image of your work. It does not need to be the complete final, finished work, it might be a cropped detail, for example.

Prepare and deliver your work

Works must arrive ready to hang or install, with any unconventinal fittings supplied.

Clearly label the reverse of each work with:

  • Artist’s name

  • Title of the work

  • Date

  • Price, if for sale

For works without a suitable reverse surface, securely attach a label to the work or its packaging.

The Shutter Room does not charge a commission, and any enquiries for purchase will be passed on to the artist or photographer to arrange purchase and collection.

All works must remain in the gallery for the duration of the exhibition (i.e. sales are not cash and carry).

Please package every artwork carefully. Protect surfaces and corners, use protective wrapping where appropriate, and place unframed prints in a sturdy cardboard sleeve or equivalent protective packaging.

The gallery is also a working photographic studio and shared workspace. Suitable packaging is essential to protect works while they are being stored and handled.

Please deliver works to the gallery during opening hours between 23 November and 4 December, or to Angela by arrangement. If these dates present a difficulty, get in touch so we can work out an alternative.

Collection and care

Please collect your work within two weeks of the exhibition closing, by Saturday 13 February 2027, or by arrangement.

All care will be taken with artworks, but The Shutter Room accepts no responsibility for loss or damage. Please help us care for your work by supplying it securely packaged and ready for installation.

We look forward to seeing where you take Landscape.
