Shutter Room Workshops 2026
Every year we run a series of practical photographic or gallery based workshops. These are usually free, or heavily discounted for all Shutter Room members (and often open to the local arts community as well).
They are always good fun.
Some of these run regularly every month and others are one of sessions for learning things like cyanotype printing, learning how to use the studio lights from scratch, photographing your artwork…
Read on for the line up for 2026….
Keep checking back here or on our social media pages to see new workshops available.
LightCatchers - Coloured Lights
Come and have some fun with Lightcatchers exploring the use of coloured lighting.
Dressup in whatever costume you desire. I have some masks, hats and a skeleton suit. A lead up to Halloween! My message is go through the cupboards and see what you all can find - wizards and witches, pirates and mafia, gorillas and ballet dancers, jet pilots spacemen, spiders (we have a giant web too). Superman or Superwoman - Supergrandpa or Supergrandma - all and sundry. We may even find a member or so from the public who would like a dressup photo taken for a laugh.
There will be practise in using coloured lighting in photographing that suits the dressup - spooky or inventive whatever the case may be.
Members can just come along to join in the fun followed by a great meal at Bob's restaurant.
